You need to complete a performance reflection on your drama weebly. Suggestions for performance reflection:
Suggestions for your process journal:
What do you need to remember for your performance tomorrow? Explain and be specific. props? stage blocking? entrance and exits? What do you know/have learned is important for a good performance? How are you going to try to do this in your own performance? What are you excited about? What about you nervous about? What has been challenging about preparing for these performances? Things to remember:
Make sure your name is on your script; bring your script to every class (rehearsal) Annotate script and highlight parts- mark in pencil as you may decide to make changes!
Everyone should have equal speaking parts. Divide up the narrator parts Your goal is to have productive rehearsals. Today: get to know the story and characters Reminder: some students still need to update their process journals with their storytelling video and reflection. See the responding questions on my weebly. Eros and Psyche Part 1 Jeroen Geoffrey Lauren Mathea Jackson Waris Emil Eros and Psyche Part 2 Taiki Jerry Maeve Judith Alex E Coco Gigi Judgement of Paris Chris Matthias Alex P Jean Tamar Lily We have finished the storytelling performances in class.
Now that you have performed, you need to upload your video and a reflection to your weebly. These guiding questions were included in the summative explanation: Guiding Questions A: Did you demonstrate their understanding of the elements of storytelling? Did you use the skills we worked on in class to purposely inform your performance? B: How did you use the feedback from class to develop your skills? How well did you apply the techniques we worked on in class to your storytelling performance? Explain. C: How have you developed an artistic intention? State your process of achieving it? How have you explored different alternatives? For example, document your thinking in your P.J. Did you try something new? What was a risk for you? D: Did you show evidence of reflection in your responses listed. How Did you transfer what you learned from watching professional storytellers to your own work? USE THESE QUESTIONS BEFORE to prepare for, DURING and AFTER to respond to your performance: How will you set up the stage? Where will your audience sit? Who is your story appropriate for? How will you begin? Do you have a storytelling bridge (see handout)? Have you scored your script? (include a photo of your script) How will you use a pause to create dramatic effect? Can you integrate different voices? Can you integrate sound effects or music? How will you know whether your audience is still with you? How will you create suspense? A climax? How will you end? Today we went over the process journal posts you should have on your weebly:
